Why This Exists: A Daily Positivity Practice

This space is a gentle accountability practice – a daily positivity practice where I notice, record, and share moments of kindness that might otherwise be forgotten.

It’s easy to go through our days and remember only what went wrong. The piece of spinach you realized was stuck in your teeth only after you smiled wide and proud at a coworker. When one mistake at work had your head on your desk for an hour. When your dog pees on the kitchen floor right after you cleaned it. You know… those kinds of things.

But even in the midst of such chaos, the small wins always shine through. Like that piece of glass you saw at the beach that you swore could have been a pearl or a lost diamond ring.

The small wins like realizing that after years of struggling to gain and maintain average weight, the fullness that you feel in your stomach from that spinach and grilled portabella mushroom panini is one that you’re finally getting used to. It’s the realization that I consciously fell forward and learned from my mistake. And it’s also about the – no, because did I mention that the dog peed on the kitchen before and after I cleaned it? We’ll move on from that one.

I want to record those moments here – even when they’re me sized (I’m small). Because a win is a win just like a doctor is a doctor even if they graduate last in their class.

This blog is my daily positivity practice – a way of tracking kindness, small good moments, growth, and the quiet victories that can disappear if we don’t pause long enough to see them.

These entries will serve as reminders to myself that positivity is all around us, even when the reality of the world can sometimes seem troubling or feel heavy.

I’m hopeful that this becomes a reminder – for me and for you – that good is happening, even if it’s quiet.

If you’re here, maybe you’re practicing noticing too.

I’m glad you’re here.

I hope you notice something good today.
